Correction and Retraction Policy

Excellent Midwifery Journal (EMJ) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. We recognize our responsibility to correct errors and retract unreliable or unethical publications, strictly following the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  1. Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum)

EMJ will publish a correction if a significant error is discovered that affects the publication record, the scientific accuracy, or the reputation of the authors or the journal, provided that the overall results and conclusions of the study remain valid.

  • Corrections will be published as a separate document that clearly identifies the error and the correction.
  • The correction notice will be bidirectionally linked to the original published article online.
  1. Retractions

EMJ will retract a published article if:

  • There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error).
  • The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission, or justification (redundant publication).
  • It constitutes severe plagiarism.
  • It reports unethical research involving human subjects.

Retraction Process:

When an article is retracted, a formal Retraction Notice will be published, explaining the reasons for the retraction and identifying who requested it (e.g., authors, editor, or institution). The original article will remain accessible on the journal's website to maintain the digital archive, but the PDF file will be clearly watermarked with the word "RETRACTED"  atau "DITARIK" across all pages.
